Hours: 27,5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:30

the Role

Leighfield Primary School are seeking to recruit a highly organised, empathetic and enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to work within our Little Roots Pre-School setting, supporting the Pre-School Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the well-being, safety and security of the children including thelocking of doors, windows and gates in accordance with safeguardingprocedures.
  • Maintain records as directed.
  • Assist in the planning and implementing a multi-cultural play curriculum to stimulate children's interest in learning.
  • Liaise with parents/carers and other staff to ensure children are welcomed and supported.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications:
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Experience of working with children underfive in informal or formal settings
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of good practice in under-fivescare and education.
  • Knowledge of requirements of the Children Act.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements
  • An understanding of Health & Safety.
  • A knowledge of good security practices.
