Position SummaryThe Educator II delivers evidence‑based curricula under the Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) and SRAE/PREP programs, promoting healthy relationships, life skills, and personal responsibility among youth ages 10–19. This position focuses on classroom and community‑based facilitation of programs such as Reducing the Risk (RTR), Making Proud Choices – In/Out of Home Care (MPC), Love Notes, and other approved SRAE/PREP curricula. Educators are responsible for facilitating lessons with fidelity, engaging youth through trauma‑informed and culturally competent instruction, and collecting required data for evaluation.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery
- Facilitate TPP and SRAE/PREP curricula with fidelity, ensuring sessions adhere to all federal, state, and funder guidelines.
- Deliver engaging, age‑appropriate, and medically accurate instruction in school and community‑based settings.
- Integrate trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Use interactive teaching strategies such as group discussions, role plays, and skill‑building exercises.
- Reinforce positive youth development principles that promote self‑esteem, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Encourage parental or guardian participation through workshops and educational outreach.
- Provide referrals to supportive community resources as needed.
- Support school and community partner recruitment for program implementation.
- Participate in outreach and mobilization events to increase program visibility and enrollment.
- Assist with the coordination of youth leadership activities and recognition events.
- Accurately complete enrollment forms, attendance, pre/post‑surveys, and fidelity monitoring tools.
- Enter data into program systems on a timely basis.
- Maintain compliance with all data protection and confidentiality standards (HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).
- Attend professional training sessions, team meetings, and curriculum fidelity reviews.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in adolescent health, risk avoidance, and prevention education.
- Associate’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Minimum of 24 years of experience in education, prevention, youth development, or counseling.
- Demonstrated classroom facilitation and youth engagement skills.
- Ability to deliver structured lessons with consistency and adherence to curriculum fidelity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
- Must pass a Level II background screening per Broward County School District standards.
- Ability to travel to sites in the Broward and Miami‑Dade County area and work evening hours and weekend shifts as needed. Standard IRS mileage reimbursement for specific shifts and events.
