What You Will Do

  • Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions, conduct assessments, and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Ensure client rights are protected, and services comply with ethical and legal standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and group activity logs.
  • Provide weekly individual and group or family counseling based on the client's needs.
  • Create a supporting treatment plan with specific goals, interventions, and parties responsible for attaining the goals identified by the client.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience providing direct services to adolescents and young adults.
  • Strong understanding of counseling theories and techniques for individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of human development, LGBTQ+ issues, and trauma-informed care principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of community organizations and resources, and the ability to collaborate to support client needs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention and emergency response, including on-call support as required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Flexibility to work in diverse indoor and outdoor settings across varying seasons and weather conditions.
  • Use of personal vehicle to transport clients as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance coverage.

It is our policy at Gulf Coast JFCS that any candidate being considered for employment must successfully complete the organization’s background screening requirements, including drug screening and applicable motor vehicle checks. Gulf Coast JFCS is a Florida Care Provider of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Agency for Health Care (AHCA), and the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA), which requires all candidates to undergo fingerprinting through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
