• Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, maintaining cleanliness of the bakery department area.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment, including cleaning shelves, products, floors, removing hazardous debris, and sweeping.
• Stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of all bakery products and discarding outdated or spoiled items.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; plus 1‑2 years of bakery experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
• Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Stand up to 3 hours continuously and total 8 hours per shift; vertically and horizontally transfer items up to 40 lbs. over distances up to 36 feet.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, while maintaining a Food Handlers permit.
