Bay Area based non-profit providing trauma care for youths is seeking an Assistant Controller or Controller to manage the accounting function for this 300 person company. This role will be a part of the rebuilding of the accounting function, reporting into the CFO, and will manage a team of 5 accountants.

Targeting Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller/Controller level candidates who have worked in growth companies where there has been a lot of change and where they have dealt with projects such as building out a new chart of accounts, streamlining policies and procedures, system implementation and automation, etc. Must have extensive payroll experience, including benefit accounting. Prior experience with cash management and treasury platforms for wires is highly desired.

This role will work onsite 3 days per week after the initial 90 days.

• 7+ years experience in accounting including Accounts Payable, Payroll and GL/Close/Financial Statement production.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field.
• Minimum 2+ years of direct staff management is required.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong systems and automation experience coming from a growth company.
• Prior non-profit industry or an interest in working for a mission-based company is desired.
