Job SummaryThe Practice Coordinator represents the administrative team as the public face of the Practice. Working closely with clinical, administrative, and management teams, the Coordinator supports practice operations, customer service recovery, and intervention efforts. Responsibilities include managing routine clerical operations, CRM messaging, telephone encounters, referrals, authorization billing, and collaborating with providers across UCSF campuses.
Responsibilities- Act as the public face of the Practice, supporting administrative, clinical, and management teams.
- Coordinate CRM messages, telephone encounters, referrals, authorizations, and billing.
- Maintain routine clerical operations and communications while adhering to UCSF House and Telephone Standards.
- Problem‑solve, prioritize, and facilitate complex transactions with minimal supervision.
- Work flexible schedules across UCSF campuses as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent with four years related experience; or college degree and 6 months related experience.
- Strong computer skills, basic keyboarding, and at least two Office‑type software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proven ability to navigate multiple patient record systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both over the telephone and in person.
- Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and meet deadlines.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in administrative/office coordination.
- Knowledge of medical practice terminology.
- Experience in health care (patient scheduling, insurance verification, medical record data abstraction, or patient financial services).
- Prior experience with appointment, ancillary service, or surgical scheduling.
- Bi‑lingual or multi‑lingual capability (Spanish, Cantonese, Russian).
- Prior experience with EPIC.
