Pay & Benefits- Pay range for this position is between $23.00 and $29.35 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
- This position is an on-call role and requires availability as business needs arise.

New Yosemite is a four-bed short-term crisis stabilization program for youth, from 8 to 17, who are on the autism spectrum. Participants are struggling to be maintained at home, and their families are stressed beyond their capacity. New Yosemite offers crisis intervention, behavior stabilization, assessment, brief treatment, individual and family therapy, and comprehensive discharge planning services, with the goal of reuniting youth with their families.
This combination of services, provided up to 90 days, allows for the development of comprehensive treatment and appropriate after-care plans for each youth. In this intensive therapeutic environment, 85% of the youth meet their treatment goals and return to live with their families upon completion of the program.
Under supervision, provides high quality, day-to-day care and supervision to participants at a residential or housing program to ensure well-being and development of participants while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment in accordance with program regulations, Fred Finch policies and procedures, and accreditation standards. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- The education and experience for Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) must follow regulation as outlined by California’s Code of Regulations, Title 22;
Personnel Requirements Section 87065. - Direct care staff shall meet one of the following requirements prior to employment:
- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree.
- Valid Child Development Teaching Permit.
- Completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Care Education and at least 100 hours of experience working with youth.
- Valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor, with at least 100 hours experience working with youth.
- Valid Vocational Training certificate, credential or documentation demonstrating that the individual is a trade journeyperson who instructs children in vocational skills with at least 100 hours experience working with youth; or
- Previously employed as staff or volunteer at a group home or short-term residential therapeutic center for at least one year.
- Relevant experience as determined by the department to meet any of the above requirements.
- Direct care staff shall be at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, maintained throughout employment.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- One (1) year of providing support services or working in a residential or housing program with a similar population.
