Position: Coordinator, Videography (GSV)

The Golden State Valkyries are looking for a Coordinator to build content and develop stories for our social media channels and in-arena distribution. Projects include activations for brand content, partnership, and social media. In this role, you will ensure the quality of our product matches the standards set by our leadership team. You should have a creative mind with a passion for crafting immersive and entertaining content.

In this role, you will shoot and edit content to create video features for various distribution touch points. Topics include behind-the-scenes coverage of the team on game days, Golden State Valkyries community events, and partnership activation videos. You will work within brand guidelines to ensure that all content is consistent and accurate while bringing platform-appropriate creativity and personality to each project.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing and will involve travel and non-traditional work hours.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Oakland, CA with time spent in San Francisco for game days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate cameras and set up lighting on production shoots as needed
  • Assist in developing short-form video features for the teams’ digital channels
  • Capture high-speed game, practice action, and press conferences on video
  • Shoot community events and partnership activation events as needed
  • Edit player video features, promotional spots, and other video content
  • Maintain all video equipment and research new video production equipment
  • Complete feature content in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create content
  • Stay current on video technologies and industry trends; make recommendations to continually innovate and improve operations and enhance the video experience of WNBA Golden State Studio content
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years in a professional production environment, preferably within the sports industry
  • Experience in videography, photojournalism, documentary video styles and techniques, and audio recording
  • Experience with various lighting techniques and setups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Premiere and After Effects)
  • Ability to operate digital cinema cameras for production shoots (RED Gemini, Sony FS7, FS5, A7s)
  • Knowledge of digital content video styles, platforms and techniques, and motion graphics creation; ability to independently handle production shoots
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service, and resolution skills
  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Candidates must have a demo reel that demonstrates both shooting and editing experience
  • Time Commitment
  • Ability to travel 3-4 months out of the year
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working early mornings, late nights, and weekends with possible overnight shifts as needed
  • Compensation

    $29.00 - 31.00 per hour + Bonus
