Job Description Summary

The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following disciplines:

CHEMISTRYMinimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Chemistry.
  • OR Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • AND A Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Physics, Physics, Molecular Biology, or Geochemistry.
  • OR May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Chemistry.
  • OR The equivalent qualifications. (Candidates who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form. This is not a process to waive the minimum qualifications.)
  • AND Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff, faculty, and students.

    For non-Master’s degree disciplines, please note that the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
