Position Overview
Head‑Royce School is seeking a full‑time Math teacher who is culturally responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic to join our Middle School team. The role starts in August for the 26‑27 school year and involves teaching pre‑Algebra through Geometry, with preferred experience in computer science. Full‑time faculty also serve as advisors in the Middle School.

- Collaborative, flexible colleague with Middle School teaching experience, capable of teaching grades 6‑8.
- Clear communicator with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Demonstrated knowledge of social/emotional development and developmentally appropriate curriculum for culturally responsive teaching and learning.
- Understanding of curriculum design, varied pedagogical approaches, and different assessment styles.
- Experience designing lessons based on Understanding by Design (UbD).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of appropriate use of technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- 2‑5 years minimum teaching experience.
- Demonstrated desire to teach in the Middle School.
- Ability to participate in an outdoor education trip for 3‑4 nights (additional stipend paid).
- Knowledge of appropriate use of technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Understanding and support of Head‑Royce’s core values with strong emphasis on equity and social justice.
- Advanced degrees or certification desirable in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, or Education.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) when designing lessons or courses.
Salary range: $75,000 – $125,000 per year, dependent on years of experience and education level.
