Compensation: $74.53 – $124.41 per hour, based on education, experience and other provisions outlined in the District's agreement with the Peralta Federation of Teachers.

Job Description

Summary:

The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part‑Time Faculty pool in the following discipline: NATIVE AMERICAN STUDIES.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Native American Studies.
  • Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline (e.g. Ethnic Studies, Sociology, American Studies, History, etc.) with an emphasis in Native American Studies. (If the emphasis is not noted on transcripts, additional documentation from the originating institution must be provided.)
  • May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Native American Studies. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990.)
  • The equivalent qualifications (Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an official foreign credentials/transcripts evaluation and translation service; candidates claiming equivalency must provide conclusive evidence on transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form).
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
