• Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology
• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology
• A Master’s Degree in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work
• May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Psychology (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990)
• Equivalent qualifications: candidates must provide conclusive evidence on their transcripts and/or the District Equivalency Application Form
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students

For non‑Master’s degree disciplines, the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
