Educational Specialist​/Learning Specialist​/Academic Coach

Strategies for Learning is seeking experienced Educational Specialists to provide individualized learning support to students with learning differences.

This position is a strong fit for someone who:

• Finds meaning in building long-term relationships with students
• Is a lifelong learner who enjoys collaborating with thoughtful, like-minded colleagues
• Enjoys highly individualized instruction

This Role Is Likely Not a Fit If You:

• Are looking for short-term or temporary work
• Are unable to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
  
  Limited experience supporting students with learning disabilities/differences

• Provide one-on-one academic remediation using evidence-based strategies
• Individualize instruction based on student strengths and needs
• Build strong, professional relationships with students and parents
• Communicate progress and collaborate with the Strategies for Learning team

• Ability to work in person at our Oakland learning clinic or on school sites
• Availability of min 4 hours/week (up to 15 hrs/week)
• Commitment of at least one full school year, ideally more

• Bachelor’s degree required (B.A./B.S.)
• Background in Special Education or related field strongly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
• Experience supporting students with learning differences

• $65/hour to start with opportunities for raises and bonuses based on experience, performance, and longevity
