Overview
The Structural Engineer (EIT) role requires knowledge of structural engineering principles, structural analysis, and knowledge of common construction materials and their properties. Interest in learning design skills utilizing aluminum and glass, and knowledge of traditional primary structural design utilizing steel, concrete and wood.
Responsibilities- Well grounded in structural modelling, analysis and design
- Ability to develop and review designs, drawings, specifications, and technical memoranda
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks with a flexible approach to work assignments
- Ability to shift focus between changing priorities and balance day-to-day project work with long-term projects
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly motivated individual who can work independently, but is team oriented and can provide leadership
- Able to conceptualize structural and architectural details in three dimensions
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Working knowledge of MathCAD (preferred)
- Proficiency with at least one of the common FEM software such as SAP
2000 or RISA-3D; working knowledge of Solid Works is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science with a structural concentration
- Engineer in Training
- Interest and possibility of P.E. registration in U.S. jurisdictions in near future is a must
- Assist with structural design using a variety of materials under the guidance of a Project Manager or Principal Engineer, and support drawing preparation
- Technical knowledge in building science an asset
- Basic ability to draw in Sketch Up, Rhino, AutoCAD, or Revit
- Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks with a flexible approach to work assignments
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service

- Independent worker who is also team oriented and can provide leadership
- Able to conceptualize structural and architectural details in three dimensions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Excellent organizational skills

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $98,000 annually for a full-time role. Salary is dependent on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for discretionary incentives and share ownership.
Note: The internal title for this position may vary depending on licensure status. Responsibilities and expectations remain the same.
