Responsibilities
  • conduct preliminary assessments
  • create concepts
  • resolve internal and external problems
  • produce drawings and specifications
  • provide customer and vendor accessibility
  • serve as EoR for designs
  • provide coverage for project leads
  • lead projects as bandwidth allows
  • lead the BIM designers in preparing engineering drawings
  • create or modify DIV 27 specifications
  • conduct site visits
  • review technical documents
  • learn from more senior team leaders and be mentored
  • manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • sign and seal telecommunications design packages
  • mentor other team members
  • work with the lead engineer or department manager to identify process improvements for departmental efficiency

As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer
, you’ll provide technical design leadership for systems in data center buildings, including structured cabling systems, wireless, audio‑visual, and other low‑voltage systems.

Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET‑accredited college
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems
  • Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam
  • Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Familiarity with responding to RFPs
  • Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
  • Experience with startup and commissioning of telecommunications systems
  • Experience creating a budget for a project
  • Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
  • Experience identifying and mitigating company risk
  • PE license and the ability to obtain multiple PE licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 years of Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers
  • Experience working on other low‑voltage systems, including Security, Audio/Visual, and Wireless
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
  • Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems
  • Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
  • Credential as an RCDD
