Coffman Engineers is seeking a talented and self‑motivated Acoustical Engineer/Consultant with 2–5 years of experience to join our Bay Area team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive acoustical consulting services—from initial feasibility studies through design, permitting, and construction support. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about collaboration, eager to grow within a multidisciplinary environment, and ready to bring energy and creativity to every project.
Responsibilities- Perform acoustical analysis and modeling for building and environmental projects.
- Conduct site measurements and testing using industry-standard equipment.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design teams and clients.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate acoustical solutions.
- Support permitting and compliance documentation throughout project phases.
- Approximate Base Salary – $78,000 to $108,000
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
- Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
- 401(k) with maximum of 5% contribution matching for 9% employee contribution
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to acoustics (Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, etc.).
- 2–5 years of experience in acoustical consulting within the construction industry.
- Proficiency with Sound
PLAN (preferred). - Ability to perform acoustical measurements using appropriate testing equipment.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Motivation to learn and adopt the latest technologies and practices.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to assist with design development and project reporting.
