Duration: 03 months on W2 contract with possibility of extension.

Seeking a Cyber Security Controls Assessor to perform IT security and compliance assessments, evaluate risks, and ensure adherence to frameworks such as NIST, SOX, and NERC CIP. This role requires attention to detail, collaboration with stakeholders, and expertise in IT controls and audit processes.

• Conduct multi-platform IT control assessments and retests.
• Evaluate systems for compliance with security standards and frameworks.
• Identify control gaps, risks, and recommend remediation plans.
• Review IT policies, standards, and evidence for control validation.
• Partner with control owners to maintain documentation and compliance.

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of IT Security or Risk Management experience.
• Strong Excel and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of NIST, SOX, and general computing controls (GCCs).
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Utility or Big 4 experience.
• Certifications:
  
  CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA, CISM, CEH, PMP.

Client laptop provided. Local candidates only; occasional on-site meetings in Bay Area.

The hourly rate for this position is between $65.00-$70.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
