Information Technology Manager of Dental Technology Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Manager of Dental Technology manages and coordinates all IT dental systems and related support activities. The role involves planning, directing work, training employees, maintaining systems, addressing complaints, documenting issues, and reporting status.

• Coordinate with the IT Manager to assign work, establish priorities and project schedules.
• Direct IT dental projects, assign tasks, and monitor and report on progress.
• Supervise departmental staff as needed.

• Manage, coordinate, support, maintain, and evaluate IT dental systems.
• Design, specify, configure, install, and maintain hardware and software such as PCs, dental system software, servers, devices, and cabling.
• Implement policies and procedures related to hardware and software use, maintenance, support, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Handle after‑hours on‑call helpdesk calls and document information.
• Create and maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly reports through the IT Helpdesk Ticket System.
• Establish and maintain user environments, directories, and security for IT dental systems.
• Train users on software and equipment usage.
• Respond to user needs and questions regarding system operation.
• Develop and communicate standards for operation, security, and data integrity of IT dental systems and integrated devices.
• Communicate broadly to report and resolve software, hardware, and technical issues.
• Consult with IT and Dental Department leadership to develop consistent system solutions.
• Install and test software upgrades and conduct recovery procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

• Knowledge of PC equipment, software, and computer networking principles.
• Understanding of hardware operation, maintenance, and repair; diagnostic software proficiency.
• Problem‑solving skills for dental information systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and Server operating systems, Active Directory, and Power Shell preferred.
• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings, nights, and occasional weekends.

• Four‑year college or university program certificate, or two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• High experience with IT support and maintenance for Dentrix, MiPACS, associated dental equipment and devices, and systems such as Sidexis, Planmeca, and J. Morita.

• Stationary position, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving objects up to 15 pounds.
• Repetitive motions involving neck, wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Reach above shoulder and/or below waist.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance for personal vehicle use.
• Permit needed for work vehicle operation.

Salary: $93,940 to $108,941 DOE.
