Cloud Platform Engineer Oakland, CA (Hybrid) Duration: initial 6-month contract Pay: $73-78/hr
We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer who will be responsible for cloud infrastructure management, CI/CD automation, platform reliability, security compliance, and production operations within AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Manage and optimize EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and related AWS services.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub and Terraform.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate operational processes.
- Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
- Drive vulnerability remediation, security compliance, and platform upgrades.
- Improve observability, disaster recovery readiness, and operational resilience.
- Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and improve engineering productivity.
- Support AWS cost optimization and cloud governance initiatives.
- 5+ years of Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, IAM, S3, and RDS.
- Experience with Terraform, Git Hub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Power Shell.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud security, vulnerability management, and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise AWS platforms.
- Familiarity with Couchbase and cloud-native microservices architectures.
- AWS Dev Ops Engineer Professional or related certifications.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Reliable and secure platform operations.
- Faster and more automated deployments.
- Timely vulnerability remediation.
- Reduced operational overhead through automation.
- Improved cloud cost efficiency and platform stability.
- Good communication skills
- Motivated to work cross collaboration with teams and flexible on priority changes
