Mass Tort Paralegal is a full‑time role in a virtual office or any of our locations. The position opens in our virtual office, The Link, or any of our offices. Location in the New England area is preferable for candidates without asbestos litigation experience.
ResponsibilitiesAssist attorneys with fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service. Focus on New England asbestos practice.
Duties include:
- Run investigations, discovery, deposition preparation, trial and mediation preparation.
- Analyse factual information and assist in preparation of pleadings, motions and briefs.
- Manage document production databases and case management databases.
- Participate in trial preparations and trial support.
- Maintain professional demeanor and comply with firm policies.
- Organise files and delegate tasks to Paralegal Assistants, supervising as needed.
- Attend in‑house CLEs.
- Mentor and supervise Paralegal Assistants.
- Anticipate attorney needs and handle key duties independently.
- Meet billable hour requirement of 1,500 hours per year.
- Deliver superior service through effective communication.
- Professional appearance, courteous client interaction.

- Efficient, accurate production of quality work.

- Mandatory asbestos/toxic tort litigation experience.
- Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor's degree in a law‑related field (Associate's degree and paralegal training acceptable).
- Familiarity with e‑filing protocols and online docket research in New England state and federal courts.
- Preferred location in New England area for candidates lacking asbestos litigation experience, but not required for those with experience.
Salary ranges vary by state:
- California: $84,000 – $112,000
- Colorado: $67,000 – $92,000
- Illinois: $72,000 – $98,000
- Maryland: $70,000 – $98,000
- Massachusetts: $76,000 – $90,000
- Minnesota: $89,000 – $100,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $85,000 – $116,000
- New York: $79,000 – $116,000
- Washington: $78,000 – $106,000
- Washington DC: $85,000 – $115,000
