Safety and Compliance Manager

We are searching for a diligent and professional Safety and Compliance Managerto join our team in Oakland, CA. We are a truck transportation company that offers a wide variety of Import, Export, and Domestic services. You will be responsible for ensuring our business operations and procedures comply with legal regulations and internal policies within the industry.

In this position, you will perform a range of duties including evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing company processes, and leading safety training sessions. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with in-depth knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA, and will be familiar with the latest trucking industry procedures and regulations.

Main Requirements:

• In-Depth knowledge and experience of OSHA and Cal/OSHA
• Have Safety and Compliance experience in Warehousing & Trucking
• Have a great understanding of SOPs in the trucking industry

Main Responsibilities:

• Teach, coach, and mentor the company's safety program
• Train employees and managers on safety program implementation and compliance
• Write and review safety documentation for all meetings and create weekly reports
• Implement and enforce company safety policies through personal interaction with drivers and staff
• Use all resources (local, state, fed) to evaluate risk management effectiveness
• Proactively identify hazards to prevent harm to employees, equipment, and the environment
• Attend daily safety meetings, providing Safety Training and Awareness
• Investigate and document any incidents or accidents
• Responsible for maintaining the company's drug and alcohol program/policy
• Assist with equipment upkeep, maintenance, and record-keeping
• Assist equipment supervisors that oversee all vehicle and trailer BIT inspections, DMV registrations, overweight port/city permits, CARB regulations, and insurance-related matters
• Registers all vehicles with The Port of Oakland's vehicle registration system (STEP)

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary $75,000 - $80,000
