WeVote is a nonpartisan get‑out‑the‑vote nonprofit startup and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. We are a movement of over 150 passionate volunteers who are building open‑source mobile technologies that mobilize millions of voters on Election Day. Reporting to the Co‑Executive Directors (Co‑EDs), the Chief of Staff will be a key strategic partner to the Co‑EDs for WeVote’s programs, fundraising, expansion, and execution of its mission. Operational responsibility will be shared with other senior leaders. The Chief of Staff will develop deep knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and business plans, lead critical processes and communications to stakeholders, manage OKR processes, and drive annual strategic planning.
Note:
This is a volunteer position (WeVote is 100% volunteer) and we expect at least 8‑12 hours per week, mostly during "work hours".
- Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.
- Lead end‑to‑end OKR process ensuring alignment between organizational goals, team performance, and integrating them into a culture that is high‑performing and supportive.
- Act as the representative of the Co‑EDs in high‑level meetings.

- Assist the Co‑EDs in managing relationships with key external stakeholders, including partners, investors, and clients.
- Work with the Co‑EDs and the marketing team to prepare for public appearances, media interviews, and thought‑leadership opportunities.
- Coordinate high‑profile meetings and events, ensuring that the Co‑EDs and leadership team are well‑prepared and strategically positioned.
- Thorough commitment to WeVote’s mission; proven leadership and relationship management experience.
- At least 3 years of senior management experience; track record of scaling organization performance and staff regionally and/or nationally; specific examples of operationalizing strategies for growth.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data‑driven evaluation.
- Excellent organizational management; ability to coach staff, develop high‑performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, manage a budget.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; persuasive, passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
