The client has engaged our firm to help them identify a top RN surgical services leader to take their 12 Operating Rooms to the next level of excellence.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for 24/7 operations of the Operating Room, with relationship to staff scheduling, productivity and first level problem resolution with physicians and staff. The Assistant Manager will manage the OR board in an efficient and cost effective manner, ensuring the smooth flow of cases, working in collaboration with Anesthesia.

Education:

• Associate degree in Nursing
• BSN preferred

License, certification and/or registration:

• Current active unencumbered California Registered Nurse license required
• Valid BCLS certification required
• CNOR preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Operating Room with progressive management experience.
• Experience working in a union environment preferred
• Familiarity with AORN recommended practices, CMS, and Title 22 guidelines for Operating Rooms.
• Demonstrates a proactive attitude and creativity in problem solving.
• Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff.
• Demonstrates dedication to quality service.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
