Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Location: Oakland, California
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $180,000 – $200,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for patients across the lifespan. This role focuses on improving mental health access and continuity of care for underserved and BIPOC communities. Your work will directly support individuals managing mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, and chronic mental health conditions in a community health setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
- Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans
- Monitor medication effectiveness and side effects
- Document care accurately within the electronic health record
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary clinical teams
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment options
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active California PMHNP license
- National PMHNP certification (ANCC or equivalent)
- Active DEA registration or eligibility
- Experience providing outpatient psychiatric care preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
