American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III/IV NICU experience and a CA RN license.
Requirements- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and PALS certifications required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level III/IV NICU required
- PICU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Skilled in IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC management
- Experience with neonatal medications including anti-seizure, antibiotic, antiviral, and vasopressor administration, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Experience with respiratory care including bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ventilator management, and oxygen delivery systems
- Experience with neonatal GI care including feedings, tube placement/management, and ostomy care
- Experience with developmental care, patient/family teaching, phlebotomy, thermoregulation, and infectious disease precautions
- Experience caring for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Level IV NICU open bay unit at a teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required, most likely Friday/Saturday/Sunday
- Floating to pediatric units for patients under 1 year of age, and to other UCSF units and facilities as needed within a 75+ mile radius
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level IV open bay NICU setting
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel candidates
- Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Travel pairs are permitted but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit
- RTO must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
