American Traveler is hiring an experienced PICU RN for a 12-hour night shift assignment requiring 5+ years of PICU experience and a CA RN license.
Details- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a teaching hospital
- 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating to other UCSF facilities and departments may be required, within a 75+ mile radius
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active CA RN license required
- BSN required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum 5 years of PICU experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, and arterial line management
- Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications
- Experience with neurologic care including ICP monitoring and post-neurosurgical care
- Experience with cardiovascular monitoring including CVP and hemodynamic monitoring
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a PICU setting
- Pediatric CVICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history details for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
- RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
