Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with a CA license and 2+ years of experience for a day-shift assignment with every other weekend required.

• Active CA RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Preferred skills include central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and various other med/surg specialty skills
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including Ashby or Herrick campuses depending on census
• Floating travelers can expect notice of approximately 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with shuttle service provided
• Epic charting system preferred
• Serve as the patient's primary nurse, managing care from admission to discharge
• Responsible for patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention measures
• Respond to medical and environmental emergencies as needed
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday request approved per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• First-time travelers considered given required travel experience
