We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test with extensive industry experience to define and execute the design, development, and maintenance of Fivetran s test automation tools and framework using reliable and scalable techniques.

As a Senior SDET, you will focus on solving complex testing difficulties by designing, developing and improving automation and reporting frameworks. You will invest in improving test stability and performance of the framework by developing innovative solutions to boost Fivetran s testing efficiency. You will also coach Fivetran quality engineers to be best-in-class automation engineers, and will continuously work with the team to ensure high standards for automation.

The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, creative, motivated, and focused on achieving results.

This is a full-time position based out of our Bangalore office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Create and maintain automation frameworks in Java, making design choices to fulfill engineering needs.
• Write test plans for complex features and automate those plans to ensure high quality of features.
• Write robust automated tests to ensure the smooth execution of the release pipeline.
• Build and share proof of concepts for test automation proposals and ideas.
• Develop solutions and proposals to lead the automation development strategy and implementation that would help maximize Fivetran products quality.
• Communicate and align automation strategy with the engineering team, making recommendations to improve reliability, best practices and processes.
• Understand customer use cases and incidents and develop test scenarios as needed.
• Engage with fellow engineers to ensure we are adding framework support for new end-to-end tests that improve product development and quality.

• 5+ years of experience in the software industry with a passion for quality and automation, preferably in an SDET role.
• Strong knowledge of OOP concepts, preferably Java.
• Expert in identifying test scenarios related to negative and corner cases and automating them.
• Experience in understanding and improving existing test automation frameworks.
• Expertise in developing different levels of automated tests (unit, functional, integration, system).
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, K8s).
• Experience in configuring and monitoring test automation jobs as part of CI/CD with Circle
  
  CI/Jenkins.
• Experience in non-UI automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of Database Testing and ETL software testing is a plus.
