About Emerald AI
We’re at a pivotal moment for AI and energy. Demand for compute is skyrocketing, but power constraints are becoming a critical bottleneck. Emerald AI sits at the intersection of these two worlds, enabling AI data centres to scale without overwhelming the grid. Our Emerald Conductor software platform makes data centres flexible and responsive, allowing them to adjust power usage dynamically. This unlocks massive AI growth without major new infrastructure, while also strengthening the grid and supporting the expansion of renewable energy.
We’re a team of experts across AI, cloud, software, and energy—on a mission to scale AI sustainably.

AboutThe Role
We are seeking a Product Lead to be the glue that binds our engineering and strategy/BD teams, guiding the development of our product suite from 0 to 1. On one hand, you will work with the strategy/BD team on work-streams like market segmentation, ideal customer profile development and go‑to‑market strategy. On the other hand, you will co‑create with the engineering team to define the roadmap, articulate new product requirements, prioritise development work, and evolve our architecture so it delivers maximum value for cloud service providers and data centre owners.
Key Responsibilities- Co‑Develop the
Roadmap:
Envision the first generation product suite and define the path that gets us there, ensuring development efforts are aligned with customer pain points and market opportunities. - Drive Product Discovery:
Lead conversations with data centre operators, cloud architects, and enterprise IT teams to uncover unmet needs, bring these insights back to engineering, and translate them into actionable feature requirements. - Guide Capability Development:
Work side‑by‑side with engineers to design, test, and refine new modules—ranging from grid interactions to workload orchestration features—that push the boundaries of what the platform can deliver. - Iterate Based on Feedback:
Structure pilots and demos that generate real‑world learnings, feeding back into the development cycle to continuously refine both product features and the overall architecture. - Define Modular Architecture:
Collaborate with engineering on how best to deliver a platform of extensible modules that can evolve over time, supporting different deployment models and needs. - Align Development & GTM:
Ensure engineering and commercial teams stay synchronised, so the features we build have clear market value and the market is ready for what we build.
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in B2B infrastructure software.
- 10+ years of total experience, ideally with significant start‑up or early‑stage experience.
- Experience developing software products with large complex customers (e.g., Google, AWS, Microsoft), products/solutions involving multiple stakeholders and significant post‑sales technical integration.
- Experience working with engineering teams on deeply technical products and aligning them with market demands.
- Work experience in one or more of the following: data centres, cloud service and high‑performance computing, AI/ML.
- Proven ability to modularise complex technical systems into clear offerings with differentiated value.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to rapidly bridge the gap between technical detail and customer value.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for building at the intersection of AI, energy, software, and sustainability.
- Make an impact. Solve the AI power bottleneck and shape how data centres scale sustainably.
- Join a world‑class team of AI, cloud, software, and energy experts in a collaborative, low‑ego environment.
- Build from 0→1. Influence strategy, GTM, org design, and customer/investor engagement from day one.
- Competitive pay + equity. Stock options let you share in the value you help create.
- Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.
- Flexible location. Work from D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with 1 WFH day/week. Backed by top investors, including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.
