Role Summary

The Principal Technical Functional Analyst serves as the design authority and senior technical and functional advisor for Infor OS, Infor LN, PLM, EAM, and supporting enterprise systems. The role is accountable for end-to-end solution integrity, alignment of business objectives with IT capabilities, and the long-term sustainability, maintainability, upgradeability, and value of the ERP roadmap. Working closely with the VP of Information Technology and Manager of ERP, this position connects business process owners, the ERP delivery team, and external partners while prioritizing standard system functionality and limiting customization.

Core

Purpose

Enable business strategy, operational efficiency, scalability, and measurable value through ERP and supporting systems, not merely system stability. Own and govern solution design across functional modules, configuration, integrations, data, security, technical architecture, and limited customization. Protect architectural integrity, enterprise consistency, upgrade readiness, and long-term supportability. Serve as a hands-on technical and functional expert who resolves complex issues and ensures the sustainable setup and performance of the Ring LN, PLM, and EAM environments.

Translate business requirements into sustainable functional and technical solutions and provide hands-on support for complex issues.

Monitor system performance and recommend or implement appropriate improvements.

Architecture and Design Governance

Define and govern the ERP solution blueprint, including core modules and functional scope, integrations and middleware, security roles and access controls, and technical and environment architecture.

Partner with the VP of Information Technology and Manager of ERP to evaluate and approve configuration approaches, custom development, extensibility, and integrations.

Establish and enforce design standards and guardrails that preserve architectural integrity, maintainability, and upgrade readiness.

Guide backlog decisions and determine which items are sufficiently aligned and ready to proceed through build and deployment.

Implementation and Lifecycle Governance

Oversee implementations, upgrades, major enhancements, and releases for ERP and supporting systems to ensure alignment with enterprise requirements, budget, and risk profile.

Define or lead standards for testing and quality assurance, data migration and data quality, cutover and go-live readiness, and post-deployment hypercare and stabilization.

Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future releases and multi-year roadmap planning.

Promote disciplined environment, release, and change management practices across the solution lifecycle.

Stakeholder, Vendor, and Continuous Improvement Leadership

Serve as the primary translator between business stakeholders, delivery teams, system integrators, and software vendors.

Provide clear direction to external partners and validate recommendations against enterprise standards, business priorities, budget, and organizational interests.

Influence vendor roadmaps and internal governance forums, including design authorities, architecture review boards, and change governance.

Monitor adoption, system performance, data quality, and business value realization, and advance continuous improvement across processes, controls, reporting, and automation.

Lead through influence, resolve conflicts between local needs and enterprise standards, and guide delivery teams toward sustainable outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

Broad cross-functional business process expertise across multiple ERP domains.

Hands-on experience with a major ERP platform such as Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Net Suite.
