Senior Network Engineer – TS​/SCI

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI to support a high-impact initiative with an organization in Oakton, Virginia. The Senior Network Engineer – TS/SCI role is onsite (5 days a week) for 6 months and focused on enhancing network visibility, security, and performance monitoring across complex environments.

• Analyze PCAP data to identify threats, anomalies, and performance issues
• Establish and maintain baseline profiles for “normal” network behavior
• Conduct protocol-level analysis (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, TLS, VPN)
• Develop technical and non‑technical reports, summaries, and actionable insights
• Tune alerts, dashboards, and data feeds based on network traffic sources
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts on advanced traffic analysis techniques
• Document and improve troubleshooting procedures (e.g., MTU/fragmentation)

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to work onsite Monday – Friday in Oakton, Virginia
• 5+ years of Network Engineering experience (Route/Switch)
• Deep experience in network traffic analysis and protocol‑level troubleshooting
• Proficiency in analyzing PCAP data and tuning monitoring tools.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Salary: $130,000 - $170,000
