The Software Product Management Lead (SPML) provides strategic direction and hands-on expertise in software product management for the DCIPS Future initiative. This role leads end-to-end product lifecycle management, including requirements gathering, backlog grooming, sprint planning, product release, and stakeholder communication. The SME-SPML works closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex user needs into actionable product development plans.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead software strategy, design, and development aligned to DoD mission-critical requirements.
- Define and prioritize Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on stakeholder feedback and business needs.
- Serve as the voice of the product in Agile ceremonies and act as liaison between scrum teams and MC&FP stakeholders.
- Present and manage product backlogs, roadmaps, and metrics.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to align product design with user-centered goals.
- Support delivery of secure, scalable, and high-availability applications across DoD multi-service environments.
- Lead planning and execution of sprint cycles and release launches for DCIPS Future.
- Ensure alignment with the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) and AWS Gov Cloud best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent technical discipline
- Minimum of nine (9) years of DoD software architecture and development experience across multi-service systems
- Minimum of nine (9) years leading Agile software product development, including user story and release planning
- Proficiency in Agile tools and methods for communicating product strategy and backlogs.
- Minimum of three (3) years working in AWS Gov Cloud and DoD SRG IL4/IL5 environments
- Experience supporting CMA mission functions and casualty management systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Product Owner (CSPO)
- SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Product Owner/Manager
- U.S. Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance.
