Roles and Responsibilities
The Tax Manager will work closely with senior tax leadership to manage domestic tax compliance and planning engagements for a diverse client base, including individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and small to mid‑sized privately held corporations. The role involves leading client engagements, identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities, conducting technical tax research, and collaborating with a US tax team on cross-border matters.
In addition, the position plays a key role in mentoring junior tax professionals and supporting the day-to-day operations of the tax group to ensure consistent, high-quality client service.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a CPA designation and brings significant public accounting experience with a strong focus on Canadian domestic tax. Proven experience leading client engagements, developing junior staff, and managing multiple priorities is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are required, along with proficiency in Taxprep, CCH, Caseware, and Microsoft Office . Exposure to US tax compliance is considered an asset.
License/Certification
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) – required
