Senior Accountant

An established organization in the retail and consumer goods sector is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead its day-to-day accounting operations. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will oversee the full accounting function while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvements across the department.

• Oversee the daily accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and account reconciliations.
• Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses for leadership.
• Monitor cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide financial insights to aid business decision‑making.
• Supervise, coach, and develop members of the accounting team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Manage inventory accounting, cost tracking, and related reconciliations within an inventory‑driven business.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support business performance.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors and other external stakeholders.
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, workflow enhancements, and process improvements.
• Support strategic initiatives and special projects as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Experience working in a retail, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or other inventory-based environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
