Our client, an established and growing distribution company in Oakville, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to manage day‑to‑day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

The role is in‑office and involves fast‑paced, high‑volume work that requires strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately review and process vendor invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to vendor A/P inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Apply incoming payments (cheques, ACH, credit cards) to appropriate accounts
  • Prepare weekly aging A/R reports
  • Follow up on overdue accounts
  • Reconcile A/R accounts and resolve billing issues
  • Regularly access and review retail customer portals for posted deduction notices, invoices, and related documents
  • Ensure all deductions are accurately captured and recorded in the internal accounting system in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments
  • Provide additional accounting support as needed
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in Accounting coupled with 1+ year of accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with Quick Books is an asset
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced work environment
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
