RPN’s Assurance & Risk Management services include financial audits and assessments of controls and liabilities, complemented by advisory support on partnership and shareholder agreements. The firm also helps clients implement and maintain management systems aligned with recognized quality assurance requirements and international standards.

The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakville, ON, responsible for managing complex accounting and financial reporting activities for a diverse client portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and working papers, as well as overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes. The role involves coordinating corporate and personal tax filings, supporting tax planning initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations.

The Senior Accountant will assist with assurance engagements, including audits and reviews, and contribute to risk assessments and internal control evaluations. This position also includes mentoring junior team members, collaborating with partners on advisory projects, and communicating directly with clients to address accounting, tax, and financial management needs.

• Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Proficiency in taxation, including corporate and personal tax compliance, tax planning, and familiarity with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Experience in assurance and audit work, including preparing and reviewing working papers, evaluating internal controls, and participating in risk assessments.
• Comfort with business advisory activities, such as budgeting, cash flow analysis, and support for business planning, succession planning, and corporate structuring.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools (e.g., professional accounting platforms, spreadsheets, and document management systems).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear, professional communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and tax matters to clients and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) or progression toward designation, and several years of relevant accounting or public practice experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple engagements, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
