Construction Cost Estimator (NOC 22303)
Location:
435 N Service Rd. West Suite 203, Oakville, ON L6M 4X8 (On site)

Estimating
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Prepare pre‑qualification submissions to present clients
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
- Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
- Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms
- Advise on tendering procedures
- Analyze tenders and recommend awards
- Prepare construction related cost estimates, cost plans, and cost strategies
- Review and value change orders and bid analyses
- Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents for estimation
- Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents
- Compute costs by analyzing labour, material and time requirements
- Prepare studies and plans on value engineering, life cycle costing and sustainable practices
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
- Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
- Maintain cost database by entering and backing up data
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends
- Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
- MS Excel
- Computer and technology knowledge
- Experience in civil, electrical and mechanical construction cost strategies
