We are seeking caring, qualified, and enthusiastic individuals to help campers ages 7 to 13 discover what overnight camp is all about. Appleby Overnight Program Director is responsible for the planning, program development, staff and parent engagement, training, and risk management of the on‑campus living experience. Residing on campus as part of the Appleby Overnight Program Team, and reporting to the Assistant Director, Ancillary Boarding Programs, this position supports Appleby’s mission to create an exceptional on‑campus living experience.

As the Appleby Overnight Program Director, you will lead the planning, coordination, and safe delivery of Appleby’s Overnight Camp experience. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Summer Boarding Programs, this position ensures exceptional program quality, camper well‑being, and strong team leadership.
In This Role, You Will:- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the Overnight Program, including evening activities and weekend arrival days.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate overnight staff, providing coaching and feedback throughout the program.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and risk management policies.
- Serve as the on‑site lead during the program, managing daily operations, staff scheduling, and incident response.
- Foster a positive and inclusive overnight community where every camper feels valued and supported.
- Communicate regularly with campers and families, ensuring a safe and memorable experience for all participants.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Summer Boarding Programs to align overnight operations with Appleby’s broader summer boarding programming.
- Coordinate logistics, activity schedules, and special events in partnership with the Ancillary Activities team.
- Maintain program records, including attendance, incident logs, and evaluations.
- Support Appleby’s standards for excellence and accreditation through the Ontario Camps Association (OCA).
- Have leadership experience in an overnight, camp, or boarding environment.
- Possess strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Have experience supervising staff and working with children aged 7–13.
- Can make sound decisions in fast‑paced, residential settings.
- Are committed to fostering inclusion and positive camper engagement.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm in your work.
- Hold Standard First Aid and CPR–C certification (required).
- Have Bronze Cross or NLS certification (strong asset).
- Have experience in an OCA‑accredited camp (asset).
