High School Math Teacher / Tutor Wanted

Position RequirementsAll Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred, with summer and the coming school year even better. Reliability and in‑person availability are a must. This role is in‑person; you must be able to commute to the Oakville location (no relocation package). Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Oakville area.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math curriculum, particularly senior math including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and vectors
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels, online and in‑person
- Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post‑lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
