  • As a Technical Lead, Environmental Compliance, you will join our Guelph or Oakville, Ontario office (hybrid) as part of our Alternative Delivery team working closely with the Montrose Project Management Office.

    The successful applicant will be a key contributor to Montrose’s established and growing portfolio of environmental services for major infrastructure projects, currently focused on urban transit expansion and transportation. As a senior technical leader within Montrose’s Alternative Delivery team, you will serve as a technical leader across major infrastructure pursuits and project execution. You will guide clients, partners, and multi-disciplinary teams through complex regulatory and permitting pathways, risk management, and integration of environmental requirements into project design and construction phases.

    This role blends technical depth, strategic influence, and leadership, ensuring Montrose delivers the highest quality work from the proposal stage through construction handover. In this role, you will:

  • Lead and provide technical oversight for all environmental components within alternative delivery pursuits and active projects, ensuring contractual requirements are translated into practical strategies and executable plans.
  • Lead development and senior technical review of environmental deliverables environmental management plans, discipline-specific technical reports, monitoring reports, etc.) to ensure compliance with project agreements, schedules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise design and construction partners on environmental risks, constraints, and mitigation measures.
  • Ensure effective communication and engage with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project partners, serving as a technical representative on environmental issues throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Support major pursuits, including strategy development, proposal preparation, technical methods, and risk registers.
  • Oversee environmental compliance execution, including permitting pathways, regulatory approvals, monitoring programs, inspections, and corrective action processes.
  • Mentor and direct project multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants, ensuring high-quality deliverables, professional development, and consistent technical practices across projects.
