The Engineering Student Intern will support our railway infrastructure and track maintenance team. This internship provides hands‑on exposure to rail operations, asset management, data analysis, and field inspections. The selected candidate will gain practical experience in both office‑based engineering analysis and field activities supporting ongoing railway projects. This role is ideal for a student interested in transportation, infrastructure, civil systems, or rail engineering who is looking to develop technical and analytical skills in a real‑world railway environment.
Whatwill you do?
- Support track maintenance and asset management initiatives.
- Assist with data validation, reporting, and analysis related to track condition and infrastructure performance.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of dashboards, tracking tools, and digital reporting systems.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies related to railway inspection, monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
- Assist with documentation reviews, drawings, and project coordination tasks.
- Participate in field visits, site inspections, and construction activities as required.
- Support various ongoing infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
- Provide general engineering and technical support to the maintenance and operations team.
- Currently enrolled in a Civil, Industrial, or related Engineering program.
- Interest in railway, transportation, or infrastructure systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required; Power BI or similar tools a plus).
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to participate in field activities and site visits.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with maintenance or asset management concepts.
- Interest in emerging rail technologies.
Hourly rate is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $20.00 CAD – $25.00 CAD.
