M&E Coordinator - KENAIDAN/MURPHY JOINT VENTURE (Oakville, ON) Kenaidan and Murphy are excited to announce a joint venture dedicated to bringing global innovation to infrastructure projects across Ontario.
Project Overview: Oakville GO station provides critical transport infrastructure and requires improvements and modernization to support an increased number of passengers and enhance operational performance of the network. The project will include station building upgrades, upgraded platform works, accessibility improvements and parking lot improvements.
The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) has been awarded the construction manager contract to help inform the detailed design, and provide construction management advice, for upgrades to Oakville GO station during the project development stage.

M&E Coordinator
The M&E Coordinator will support the delivery of mechanical and electrical scopes on a major rail/transit project, with a focus on commissioning planning, coordination, and submission deliverables. This role works closely with project leadership, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure systems are properly coordinated, tested, and successfully handed over.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Support the development and implementation of commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules
Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system handover activities across multiple disciplines
Prepare and submit commissioning documentation, including test reports, checklists, and system turnover packages
Track commissioning and installation progress to ensure alignment with project milestones and deadlines
Prepare, review, and track RFIs, shop drawings, and technical submittals, ensuring compliance with contract requirements
Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve design conflicts, scope gaps, and interface issues
Monitor site activities and conduct walkthroughs to verify installation readiness and quality of work
Track deficiencies and support closeout activities to ensure timely project completion
Maintain equipment and material tracking logs to support commissioning readiness
Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and applicable rail/transit authority requirements (e.g., Metrolinx)
Support QA/QC processes, inspections, and documentation control
Education and Experience:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
3–8+ years of experience in M&E coordination on infrastructure or construction projects
Experience working on rail/transit or major infrastructure projects is preferred
Exposure to commissioning, testing, and system handover processes
Strong understanding of construction documentation including RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
Skills and
Competencies:
Strong coordination and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
Problem-solving mindset with solid technical understanding of M&E systems
Proficiency with construction and document control systems
