Oakville GO station provides critical transport infrastructure and requires improvements and modernization to support an increased number of passengers and enhance operational performance of the network. The project will include station building upgrades, upgraded platform works, accessibility improvements and parking lot improvements.
The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) has been awarded the construction manager contract to help inform the detailed design, and provide construction management advice, for upgrades to Oakville GO station during the project development stage.

The Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all mechanical, electrical, communications, and systems activities throughout design development, construction, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
How will you contribute to the team?- Coordinate all mechanical and electrical scopes from design through construction and commissioning.
- Review design drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for completeness and constructability.
- Manage and track RFIs, design clarifications, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate activities between mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and civil disciplines.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, and client representatives.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, schedule compliance, and quality requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering initiatives.
- Support procurement activities related to mechanical and electrical equipment and subcontractors.
- Coordinate field installation activities and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Assist with cost control, change management, and forecasting activities.
- Support testing, commissioning, deficiencies, turnover, and closeout processes.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide regular status updates to project leadership.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), CET, or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating mechanical and/or electrical scopes on construction projects.
- Experience working on transportation, infrastructure, transit, institutional, industrial, or major ICI projects.
- Experience with rail, transit, station, airport, healthcare, or public‑sector infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience supporting commissioning and turnover activities.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Knowledge of fire alarm, communications, security, BAS, HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, and accessibility systems.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or other construction management software is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Metrolinx, GO Transit, TTC, or other transportation authority standards is considered an asset.
Salary Range:
Between $115,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.
