The Senior Project Procurement Manager for the Network Technologies Business Unit is responsible for managing subcontractors for energy transmission and substation construction projects in Canada (e.g., high-voltage direct current [HVDC] projects or static reactive power compensators [SVC]) and must focus on civil engineering, construction, and installation work.

The Senior Project Procurement Manager for the Network Technologies Business Unit is responsible for managing subcontractors for energy transmission and substation construction projects in Canada (e.g., high-voltage direct current [HVDC] projects or static reactive power compensators [SVC]) and must focus on civil engineering, construction, and installation work.

• Draft and negotiate complex terms for large contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met, mitigating procurement risks, and managing scope changes during execution.
• Maintain procurement plan, execute supplier selection, evaluation, and development; lead contractual and price negotiations for equipment and services; ensure requirements for budget, availability, and quality are met; comply with procurement regulations and standards; and identify and manage procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, claims, and market forces throughout the entire project.
• Ensure early Procurement involvement in the bid project by analyzing scope of supply, contractual obligations, and understanding customer’s functional needs for all equipment and services.
• Meet with cross-functional partners to provide procurement market and preferred supplier information at an early stage to optimize supplier selection.
• Include (supplier) innovations and preferred supplier/product portfolios that improve Siemens Energy's cost position and/or the customer's benefit and thereby increase hit rate
• Support project calculation with reliable and up-to-date cost data.
• Key focus on civil works, building, and installation, including identification and qualification of on-site contractor(s), development of RFP packages and contract models aligned with customer terms and risk mitigation for Siemens Energy, and independent negotiation of quotes with limited legal department assistance.

• Support project calculation with reliable and up-to-date cost data.
• Key focus on civil works, building, and installation, including identification and qualification of on-site contractor(s), development of RFP packages and contract models aligned with customer terms and risk mitigation for Siemens Energy, and independent negotiation of quotes with limited legal department assistance.

• University degree in civil/electrical engineering, architecture, or comparable field, or equivalent training with extensive relevant experience; 8+ years in supply chain, civil works, or engineering roles, preferably in complex project environments.
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated, with a strong ethical approach, effective task management in a fast-paced environment, and excellence in independently preparing and executing complex negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of construction and contracting principles, methods, procedures and best practices
• Sector: experience with electrical construction industry, i.e. AIS / GIS projects is preferred
• Travel:
  Willingness and ability to travel
• This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
