Job Summary pThe Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for operating, maintaining and inspecting wastewater treatmentfacilities and undertakes minor servicing of related equipment. /p
Duties & Responsibilities ul liMonitors, analyses and adjusts process parameters. /li liPerforms standard laboratory process testing and maintains accurate records and logs. /li liParticipates on project teams and assists in the evaluation and implementation of technological improvements. /li liConducts facility tours for members of the public, schools, universities and Regional Council. /li liPerforms housekeeping, janitorial and other general maintenance duties. /li liPerforms other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications ul liA minimum of a secondary school diploma and a valid Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) wastewater treatment license. /li liApplicants must possess and maintain a valid MECP Wastewater Treatment Operator in Training (O.I.T) or higher(class 1 to
4) licence. A valid Operator in Training (O.I.T) is required and additional consideration will be given for all wastewater treatment plant experience. /li liStrong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook). /li liInitiative, the ability to work as a team and independently along with strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills. /li /ul p bPreferred /p ul liPost-secondary school education in a related environmental field and with Ministry of the Environment, Conservationand Parks (MECP) wastewater treatment licensing (Levels 1 to
4). /li liKnowledge, understanding and experience with the application of related legislation and acts (Occupational Healthand Safety Act, Ontario Water Regulation Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act). /li liFamiliarity with SCADA technology. /li liRelevant experience in a laboratory or wastewater plant. /li /ul
