Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide continuous performance management, coaching and on-going support and development of the team and provide training to new and existing staff as requiredManagement and oversight of month end/year end closing procedures and day-to-day accounting activities of the Pharmacy Accounting team Perform various GL accounts reconciliations and/or review reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring that they are adequately supported and analyzed
Ensure all of the manual journal entries are completed with the necessary back-up documentation, reviewed for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and SOXEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial information
Support in analysis and investigation of inventory variances
Support documentation and testing of internal controls under SOX within this areaObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structureSupports the general accounting team to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met, and the financial results are complete and accuratePartnering with business stakeholders on safeguards and financial accuracy of inventory across all storage locationsAdvises associates and other business partners regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactionsCollaborates with the other finance department members to support overall department goals and objectivesMonitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracyContinuous process improvement with regards to processes and related financial systems (ERP), providing support and engagement with any enhancements, upgrades or system conversionsResponds to inquiries from the VP of Finance, Controller, and other finance and business unit managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and inquiries tied to this areaPerforms other related duties as assignedExperience and
Educational Requirements:
BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA requiredMinimum seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience, including 2 years of inventory management experiencePrior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area is requiredExperience working in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry is preferredMinimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
Working knowledge of accounting, and big ERP software packages, Sage experience an assetStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong supervisory, interpersonal and customer service skills requiredStrong mathematical and analytical skillsStrong organizational skills; attention to detailAbility to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practicesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines requiredWhat Cencora offers
