Our client, a well-established family-owned real estate development group located in Oakville, is recruiting for a hands-on Accounting Manager.

The RoleIn this role, you will report directly to the President and Principals, taking ownership of the full financial reporting cycle, cash management, and compliance. You will manage the day-to-day financial operations—from maintaining the general ledger and fixed asset sub-ledgers to overseeing payroll and union reporting.
You will also play a strategic role in analyzing capital expenditures, managing cash flows, and serving as the primary liaison with external accounting firms. This is a high-visibility position ideal for a self-starter who enjoys a broad scope of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Produce monthly financial statements, budgets, and cash flows within strict timelines.
- Manage daily bank balances and report on current and future cash requirements.
- Oversee and process salary payroll, union reporting, and CRA filings (HST, Source Deductions).
- Maintain fixed asset sub-ledgers and reconcile them to the general ledger in real-time.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and benchmarks.
- Provide analysis for capital expenditures, including payback modeling and financing options.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and accounting firms.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal reporting standards.
- CPA designation is required.
- 5+ years of post-designation experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Experience in the Construction or Real Estate Development industry is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian corporate tax and HST.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A hands‑on team player who can work independently and collaborate effectively.
