Key Accountabilities Supply Chain & Inventory Management
  • Oversee the ordering, distribution, storage, and tracking of medical consumables across all Ornge bases and Service Agreement Carriers.
  • Utilize SAP and inventory management systems to verify orders, manage stock levels, adjust minimum and maximum quantities, and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Manage outbound shipments, documentation, and receipt of goods to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate product rollouts, trials, substitutions, and recalls in collaboration with Logistics, Clinical Affairs, and Paramedic Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safe handling, storage, and maintenance requirements for medical consumables, including equipment‑related consumables.
Financial & Vendor Management
  • Apply financial oversight to consumables purchasing, ensuring fiscally responsible sourcing and selection of replacement products.
  • Track and report cost savings achieved through strategic purchasing and vendor selection.
  • Source suppliers for new or discontinued consumables and proactively monitor industry‑wide shortages or supply chain disruptions.
  • Work with vendors and partners to mitigate risks and maintain operational readiness.
Reporting, Analysis & Operational Readiness
  • Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, and databases to track inventory levels, usage trends, performance metrics, and preventative maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare and provide inventory status, shortage, and forecasting reports to leadership and operational stakeholders.
  • Analyze usage patterns to anticipate demand and prevent service interruptions across the province.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process enhancements.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members involved in medical consumables management and distribution.
  • Act as a key point of contact for bases and internal partners, clarifying processes related to ordering, returns, substitutions, and safe handling.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve issues, support operational needs, and ensure consistent standards across the system.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field;
    Supply Chain Management Certificate required, business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of dedicated EMS logistics experience or 5-6 years in supply chain, logistics, inventory management within regulated or health care environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory control, asset management, shipping/receiving, and vendor coordination.
  • Experience supporting or leading projects related to supply chain operations, product implementation, or process improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to monitor budgets, track savings, and support audit and reporting requirements.
