We are currently seeking a skilled, compassionate, and fully Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who is committed to continuing education, understands the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), and excels at creating customized treatment plans for a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough subjective and objective assessments to identify the underlying causes of dysfunction.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and goals.
- Utilize a variety of techniques including but not limited to:
Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, and hydrotherapy. - Provide clear home care recommendations and remedial exercises to support recovery and prevent re-injury.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment room in accordance with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) standards required by the CMTO.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough SOAP notes for every patient encounter.
- Ensure all records comply with CMTO standards regarding record-keeping, retention, and privacy legislation (PHIPA).
- Communicate effectively with referring practitioners (Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Physicians) regarding patient progress.
- Maintain active registration in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
- Carry valid Professional Liability Insurance.
- Fulfill the annual Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) as required by the CMTO.
- Adhere strictly to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice set forth by the CMTO.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized (CMTO-accredited) Massage Therapy program (minimum 2200 hours preferred).
- Active Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). (Candidates awaiting results may be considered).
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Valid Professional Liability Insurance.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong manual therapy skills and physical stamina.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport quickly with patients.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Competency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Assets (Preferred but not required):
- Additional certifications (e.g., Cupping Therapy, Acupuncture, IMS, Hot Stone, Prenatal, Sports Massage).
- Fluency in additional languages.
- Experience working with Extended Health Insurance claims and motor vehicle accident (MVA) patients.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Split: [60/40 split or 70/30 split in favour of the RMT] / Hourly guarantee during probation period.
