Who you are  Geotab is seeking a Data Scientist who will assist in the design and construction of Geotab's data mining and model-building processes from large amounts of raw data. This role collaborates with internal technical teams to analyze trends and support data-driven decision-making for customer-facing products. What you'll do  As a Data Scientist, your key responsibilities will include:
Designing and constructing Geotab’s data modeling processes
Creating algorithms and predictive models to solve complex business problems
Generating queries from Geotab’s Big Data Infrastructure (e.g., Data Warehousing databases such as Google Big Query)
Developing machine learning models, testing product performance, and maintaining reports and dashboards
Working with internal technical teams to gather requirements and ensure data-driven products meet expectations

How you'll make an impact   Design and construct Geotab’s data modeling processes
Create algorithms and predictive models to extract information for solving complex business problems
Generate queries from Geotab’s Big Data Infrastructure (e.g., Google Big Query)
Use machine learning packages (e.g., Scikit-learn and Tensor Flow) to develop ML models and features
Test the performance of data-driven products and recommend improvements to Geotab’s product suite
Collaborate with internal technical teams to gather requirements
Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
Support a platform providing ad-hoc and automated access to large datasets
What you'll bring to the role   1-5 years experience as a Data Scientist or a similar role
Post-secondary degree/diploma with specialization in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
Strong programming knowledge (e.g., Python, SQL, C++) and experience with Big Data tools (e.g., Google Big Query)

Experience with machine learning techniques (Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow) and BI tools (Tableau)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make well-judged decisions
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
Excellent technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business
